Garage Issues

Aside from the HOA requirement for keeping garage doors closed, there are safety issues regarding open garage doors:

First, by leaving an open garage door unattended, a resident is inviting a theft of their property. Trails West has seen  this type of crime more than once.

Second, the homeowners leave themselves vulnerable to a home invasion.

Third, we live in an area with abundance of wildlife, all of which will not hesitate to walk into an open garage. A Black Bear (and her cubs – that ought to be fun), raccoons (more fun), armadillos (been there) are among the most likely to be encountered. Possibly the most dangerous, however are Coral snakes and Pygmy rattlers. A garage (especially one full of boxes, files, etc.) is the perfect hiding place and the consequences of surprising either of them could be unfortunate.
